Linksys Router Configuration Guide

Go to Start -> Run -> in the “Open” box, type command

Select “OK”

This will open a DOS window. Type ipconfig
Verify the IP address of the Default Gateway.
For Linksys routers, it is usually set to 192.168.1.1

Open Internet Explorer (or other web browser) and browse to the IP address of the Default Gateway. You will be prompted for the username and password.

The username should be left blank and the password is admin.

Once logged on, change the connection type to PPPoe

Enter your username and password for the DSL service. Be sure to enter the username in the format: username@atnex.net

Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and be sure to select “Save”

The router will reboot and may be unresponsive for up to 45 seconds.

Hit refresh on the browser and go to the “Status” tab.

Verify you have successfully acquired a public IP address
